Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 22, 2026
INCIGHT (“INCIGHT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a U.S. nonprofit organization headquartered in Portland, Oregon. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through incight.org (the “Site”), why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
It applies to this Site. Services we run at other web addresses, including our job fairs site and our online learning platform, publish their own terms and notices, and where those differ the notice published on that service governs your use of it.
1. Information you give us
Enquiry form. When you use the contact form we collect your first name, last name, email address, the category you select, and the content of your message. We use the category to route the enquiry to the right person on our team.
Comments. If you leave a comment on an article in our Resources section, we store the comment and the display name you choose.
Correspondence. If you email an address listed on the Site, or contact us about a program, scholarship, job fair, or training, we keep that correspondence and any information you include in it.
We do not collect payment information on this Site. Donations and event registrations are completed on separate platforms operated by our donation provider and our events provider, who handle any payment details under their own privacy policies.
2. Information collected automatically
We use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used. It records pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, how you arrived at the Site, and what you did while you were on it. Google’s tag sets cookies to do this. Our Cookie Policy lists them and explains how to refuse them.
Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and reliability.
3. Information stored on your device
If you change the accessibility settings on the Site, or dismiss an announcement banner, that preference is saved in your own browser using local or session storage. It stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and you can clear it through your browser settings.
4. How we use the information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries and direct them to the right member of our team; to run our programs, scholarships, job fairs, and training; to send newsletters and updates where you have asked to receive them; to understand how the Site is used and improve it; and to meet our legal, funding, and reporting obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
5. Who we share it with
Our team. Enquiries are stored in a database we control and are notified to the relevant INCIGHT staff by email and internal messaging.
Service providers. We use third parties for website hosting, database storage, email delivery, internal team messaging, and analytics. They process information on our instructions and for no other purpose.
Embedded content. Some pages embed video hosted by a third-party video platform. When such a video loads or plays, that platform may set its own cookies and receive information about your visit.
Other platforms. Donation, event registration, and online course links take you to services operated by other organizations, each governed by its own privacy policy.
Legal. We may disclose information where we are required to by law, or where it is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of INCIGHT or others.
6. How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and correspondence for as long as we need them to respond, to maintain a record of our work, and to meet our reporting obligations, and we review what we hold periodically. You can ask us to delete information about you at any time using the contact details below.
7. Your choices and your rights
You can ask us to provide a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. You can unsubscribe from any newsletter using the link in the email or by contacting us. You can refuse analytics cookies as described in our Cookie Policy.
