: Mentoring

“The online mentoring program has given me the opportunity to not only give back to my community but also apply my own educational and business experience in the process. Personally helping a college student through some of the barriers they face in their day to day activities on campus has been a most satisfying experience. ”
- Jim, Compli, on his mentee Daniel

“An aspect of Incight's impact on me is that of the mentoring program. Having someone who is helping me to establish better study habits and some more accountability on my part is a good thing. ”
- Daniel, Incight Scholar @ University of Portland, on mentor Jim

In order to help our Incight Scholars achieve their goals and dreams, we created our eMentoring Program. Each Incight Scholar will be matched with an eMentor – an adult who is working in the business, non-profit or government sector. We believe these eMentors are key to helping students succeed in their education and career aspirations.

The Basics of the Program :

Goal: To provide Incight Scholars meaningful community connections to help advance their college education and career opportunities.

Who is Mentored: Incight scholarship recipients

Who is Mentoring: Employees from the private, public and non-profit work sectors

How does it occur: Students and their mentors communicate primarily over email

How long is the commitment: Relationship continues for 1 year
